No one translation is the same. Newsletters, invitations to a meeting or a technical manual for hospital staff explaining how equipment can be used, a certified translation of a diploma or a book on mindfulness - they all have their own quirks and requirements. In recent years, I have worked on many types of texts. Always different, always a challenge, and always fun.

Specialisations

I have decided to focus mainly on legal and (para)medical translations. That is why I have not only worked to get my qualification to get sworn in by the court as a translator (and interpreter), but I keep my CPD updated, to maintain and expand my knowledge.

From marketing texts to novels

If you would like to have a text translated that is not legal or medical, that is of course possible. After years of translating texts for companies, I know better than anyone how to communicate effectively and how a message is best conveyed in another language. I also have a wide interest in the fields of lifestyle, crafts and creative arts.And if I don't feel confident enough or I know someone who is simply an expert in your field, I will gladly refer you to one of my colleagues.

Other languages

I only translate from and into English and Dutch (and Frisian...). For other language combinations, I have a list of colleagues that I like to work with. For example, if a newsletter needs to be translated into Dutch, Spanish, and German, I will get together a team to make it happen. No problem!

Urgent translations and other services

In consultation and if the source text is provided on time, same-day return is possible for texts up to 500 words at an additional cost. For sworn translations, digital delivery (pdf of the scan) is often also possible, depending on the source material and end recipient. If desired, I can also arrange an apostille of my signature for a modest additional fee. For legalisation, I will refer you to an agency I like to work with in The Hague.
